Overview of our role
The Senior Finance Analyst – Capital Investment will play a key role in shaping the future of our Electricity and Gas Distribution business by delivering strategic financial insights, commercial analysis, and meaningful advice. You’ll help influence business decisions that align with our broader SGSPAA Strategic Plan.
In this role, you’ll take the lead in managing large-scale capital investments—valued at approximately $2 billion over the next five years—while building strong, trusted partnerships across the Electricity and Gas Distribution Management Team and Finance.
As a valued member of both teams, you’ll be a proactive contributor to collaborative discussions and support a culture grounded in shared success, transparency, and impact.
Experience you will bring to the role:
- Experience in managing strategic finance matters within large, complex or regulated environments.
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively with finance professionals, building a high-performing team culture.
- Skilled in identifying and articulating key business drivers and KPIs in multi-disciplinary settings.
- Proficient in combining internal and external data sources to deliver meaningful insights.
- Strong background in complex budgeting and forecasting, ideally within large organisations.
- Confident in building trusted relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders across the business.
Qualifications & skills:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field, with CA or CPA preferred.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to Networks and Gas Markets, including RIN and RIO.
- Confident in reviewing contracts or key documents and identifying opportunities to optimise financial outcomes.
- Proficient in SAP and BI tools (e.g., Business Objects, BPC), including modules such as FI/CO, CATS, PS, HR, and PM.
- Advanced skills in Excel for financial modelling and analysis.
- Able to translate complex data into clear insights to support informed decision-making.
