HR Manager – Finance & Jemena Networks (initial 12 month fixed-term)

Overview of our role

The HR Manager – Finance & Jemena Networks is responsible for providing strategic, commercially aligned HR business partnering to the Finance and Jemena Network portfolios.

In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, embedding the People Strategy into business planning and decision-making, and translating enterprise priorities into a clear, practical and integrated people agenda. You will lead the development and delivery of portfolio-specific People Plans aligned to organisational objectives, workforce needs and future capability requirements.

You will lead and coach a team of HR Business Partners, ensuring consistent, high quality people outcomes and effective delivery of HR services. Working closely with Centre of Excellence and People Services, you will operate within a matrix HR model to drive alignment, governance and continuous improvement.

This role plays a critical part in shaping leadership capability, workforce planning, organisational change and culture, while ensuring compliance, risk management and strong employee relations outcomes.

A little about you

  • You are a HR Manager with a strong business partnering mindset and the credibility to operate at Executive Levels. You are comfortable navigating complexity and know how to balance strategic influence with disciplined delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and delivering divisional or business unit People strategies
  • Strong people leadership capability, including leading and developing HR practitioners
  • Experience operating within complex, matrixed and regulated environments (utilities, infrastructure, heavy industry or government desirable)
  • Strong capability in workforce planning, employment legislation, employee and industrial relations, award interpretation, change, talent, remuneration, performance and organisational design
  • Proven ability to empower, influence, coach and partner with senior leaders to achieve sustainable people and business outcomes

Qualifications / certifications & Skills

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline, with a commitment to ongoing learning and development
  • Experience working in professional services and/or multi-site utility, resource or infrastructure organisations, navigating complexity with empathy and collaboration
  • Strong, practical knowledge of Australian employment legislation, with supportive experience interpreting and negotiating awards, agreements and legislation
  • Understanding of change leadership with the ability to thoughtfully apply different methodologies to help people adapt and feel supported through change
