About the role
As a high profile HSE Business Partner at Zinfra, you’ll nurture a culture of care and accountability across Central Victoria’s communities. You’ll work closely with operational teams to embed Zinfra’s HSE Strategy, guiding safe and sustainable practices that protect people and the environment. Your supportive approach will empower teams to take ownership of safety, fostering continuous improvement and shared responsibility. Through meaningful partnerships and inclusive engagement, you’ll help deliver the DOMSA contract with AusNet—ensuring every action contributes to a safer, more resilient energy future for Victoria.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Building trusted partnerships with operational teams and leaders, offering compassionate and expert guidance on complex HSE matters.
- Coaching and empowering operational teams to foster a resilient, values-driven safety culture where care and accountability thrive.
- Supporting the co-creation and delivery of tailored HSE initiatives, programs, and training aligned with strategic goals.
- Collaborating with teams to interpret and integrate HSE legislation in ways that feel practical, inclusive, and empowering.
- Leading thoughtful investigations into HSE incidents, ensuring learnings are shared and improvements are embraced collectively.
- Facilitating meaningful engagement through HSE committees and forums that amplify diverse voices and encourage shared ownership.
- Conducting insightful audits and inspections, helping teams identify opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.
- Championing the development of systems and tools that simplify compliance and enhance wellbeing across all levels.
- Nurturing relationships with unions and regulators, ensuring open communication and mutual understanding in support of safe, respectful workplaces.
About You
You’re a collaborative and values-driven HSE leader who thrives in complex environments. You bring deep expertise, a coaching mindset, and a passion for creating safer, healthier workplaces. You lead with empathy, influence with integrity, and empower others to embed safety as a shared responsibility across every level of the organisation.
- Holding qualifications in Health & Safety, Environment, or Training (Diploma level or higher preferred)
- Demonstrating expert knowledge of Australian HSE legislation and codes of practice
- Leading complex incident investigations using ICAM or similar methodologies
- Applying advanced risk management and assurance frameworks
- Building and embedding HSE systems aligned with AS4801
- Coaching senior leaders and teams to foster safety ownership and accountability
- Communicating with clarity across all levels, including reporting, training, and facilitation
