About the Role: 

Join our team as a Financial Analyst, where you will play a crucial role in providing financial support and analysis to various operating groups. Your insights will drive strategic decisions and help us achieve our financial targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely financial support, analysis, and interpretation of financial and operational performance to various operating groups to aid in business and strategic decisions.
  • Perform month-end tasks, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for the assigned operating group, including Operation and Maintenance and Capital financial management, to meet established expectations and targets.
  • Prepare monthly reports for Managers, Directors, and Senior Leadership on financial information related to Budgets, Forecasts, and Actuals, with recommended mitigation strategies to achieve financial targets.
  • Recommend and implement streamlined and common approaches to analytics within operating groups, impacting financial outcomes throughout Gas Distribution (GD).
  • Develop relationships with operating groups, focusing on individuals responsible for financial data compilation and assessment, to understand and validate their processes.
  • Collaborate with key Gas Distribution stakeholders to lead the development of forecasts, the annual budget, and long-range forecasts for Gas Distribution.
  • Provide ad hoc/off-cycle data, reporting, and analysis as requested, ensuring accurate and relevant information for management decision-making.
  • Ensure financial reporting and tracking align with the Regulatory framework.
  • Support key SOX controls and Audit requirements.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • University Business degree required.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Finance-related designation (CMA, CA, CPA, CGA, or MBA) preferred.
  • 2+ years of post-qualification experience in business performance analytics roles.
  • Highly analytical with superior financial modeling skills and the ability to communicate findings and recommendations meaningfully with business context.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP, Oracle, and Hyperion preferred.
  • Highly proficient in Excel.
  • Good business acumen and understanding of the regulatory environment and financial management strategies and reporting requirements.
  • Proven team player with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
  • Strong competencies in interpersonal skills, oral and written communications, persuasion, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience prioritizing work and implementing processes and ongoing process improvements to streamline and optimize work.

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional overtime required during critical financial reporting periods.
