About the role
In this role, you will join a team leading community and stakeholder engagement for major and complex capital works projects that are critical to the delivery of water and wastewater services throughout WA. Your work will directly influence project success and community outcomes. We have a 2-year fixed term (full time) position based in our Leederville office available. As projects are delivered in WA regional areas, the role requires the ability to travel approximately once a month for up to three days.
We’re looking for someone with substantial experience in developing and implementing community engagement and communication strategies. You’ll bring a proven track record of delivering impactful engagement initiatives that support project goals and build trust with stakeholders, ideally within the context of large infrastructure projects.
What you can expect with this role
- Lead strategic situation analysis in planning and delivering stakeholder and community engagement strategies, activities, and materials
- Drive complex engagement initiatives that influence key business outcomes and involve diverse stakeholder groups
- Provide expert advice to ensure the development of high-quality communications and external relations materials
- Facilitate multi-agency collaboration to strengthen community and stakeholder interactions
- Apply innovative thinking to explore diverse perspectives and implement unique improvement initiatives
Your skills and experience
For this role, we are looking for great talent with:
- Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, marketing or a related discipline
- Substantial experience in community engagement, stakeholder and issues management
- A positive, effective communication style with strong influencing skills
- Proven ability to work independently in high-pressure environments, managing competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills and an ability to summarise complex issues for common use
- Strong alignment with Water Corporation’s values and behaviours, contributing to a constructive and high-performance culture
