The Solutions Architect position is part of our Customer Engineering team and is responsible for supporting our corporate sales team by providing commercially focused innovative technical solutions tailored to the customers performance objectives to assist Business Development Managers and Account Managers in securing sales opportunities.
Based in our Richmond office and reporting to the Lead Architect the Solution Architect is responsible for managing the technical relationship within the client throughout the sales lifecycle. This is accomplished by liaising with the corporate sales team and proposing telecommunications network solutions that meeting the customer’s needs. Solutions Architects play a key role as the main liaison point for the sales teams and TPG’s customers into the engineering functions of the business.
Contribute to the achievement of revenue growth targets and re-sign and retention strategies by providing timely advice, recommendations, and accurate commercially focused innovative solutions.
Develop innovative, cost effective design solutions that meet a customer’s business requirements which also contribute to the success of TPG.
Design solutions that can be implemented, managed, and maintained by TPG. Ensure non-standard design elements are documented and embedded within the operational arms of the business.
Support and provide technical expertise on existing voice and data technologies, solutions, and services to teams within the Corporate, Government and Wholesale sales department.
Promptly and proficiently adjust priorities in consultation with the assigned sales segments to maximise sales effectiveness.
Experience with designing and proposing Fortinet solutions.
Respond to stakeholders seeking technical solutions assistance within the set SLAs.
Post Sales and Relationship Management
Deliver effective and timely post sale handover of solution documentation ensuring documentation is of high quality and high accuracy.
Provide post-sales support to customers, ensuring solutions are implemented successfully.
Develop and maintain effective business relationships to achieve business outcomes, which ensures customers have confidence in TPG’s ability to deliver superior customer service.
Collaborate with, provide support and advice to other Solution Architects.
Develop internal networks with other teams and departments.
Knowledge and experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Information Technology, or relevant discipline and relevant Industry Accreditations (e.g. Fortinet, Cisco, Microsoft) is preferred.
Minimum of 4-6 years’ technical experience in a similar role, telecommunications industry experience is essential.
Practical knowledge and experience with security and SD-WAN technologies.
Knowledge and experience in IP (BGP, RIP, MPLS, QoS), Transmission, Voice (switched and VOIP), Cloud, Managed Services, Wireless and other integral technologies.
Practical knowledge of Access Technologies including Fibre, xDSL, EFM, NBN, etc.
Providing advanced technical data and voice solutions addressing legacy as well as state of the art solutions such as analogue voice to SIP VOIP, X.50 to DWDM, FR/ATM to IPVPN (L2 and L3).
Strong written and oral communication skills, coupled with confidence in presenting, pitching and solving problems.
Ability to forward plan work and set up realistic targets, schedules and deadlines.
