About the Position:
Complete Dental Care, located on St Kilda Road, is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a 12-month maternity leave contract with the possibility of extension beyond the initial term.
The role would initially be 2–3 days per week, moving to full-time by the end of March.

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll work closely with the practice manager and collaborate with our dental team, gaining opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement along the way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.
- Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.
- Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
- Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

What do you need to succeed:
- Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential
- A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial
- Knowledge of implants is a bonus, though not essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy
- Attention to detail
