What you’ll be doing
In this hands-on and varied role, you’ll support the Group Tax Manager across SRG’s full spectrum of tax responsibilities, including:
- Tax Accounting & Compliance – Own the Core Tax Engine - Manage key tax compliance activities across income tax, GST and FBT for Australia and New Zealand.
- Tax Advisory – Shape Strategic Tax Decisions - Support Group tax planning, transactional advice and research to identify risks and opportunities.
- Audit, Risk & Governance – Strengthen Controls & Compliance - Apply SRG’s tax governance framework and assist with regulatory reviews and audits.
- Operational Support – Be the Go-To Tax Partner - Provide technical tax support to stakeholders and contribute to system and process improvements.
- What you’ll bring…You’re someone who enjoys diving deep into technical detail, solving complex problems, and partnering with the business to drive good governance and smarter decision-making.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven Tax Expertise - 3+ years’ corporate tax experience in Corporate or Professional Services.
- Strong Technical Foundation - Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- Professional Accreditation - CA, CPA or CTA (completed or progressing).
- Regulatory Confidence - Solid understanding of Australian tax legislation; NZ knowledge a bonus.
- Analytical Precision - Exceptional research skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Clear Communicator - Able to assess risk and translate complex tax concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus Points
- Experience with OneSource Corporate Tax or similar platforms.
- Exposure to ATO or IRD audit/review processes.
- Background in the retail industry.
