This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HSE professional who enjoys building relationships, influencing positively on site, and helping teams feel confident, supported, and safe in the work they do.
About the role:
As our HSE Advisor, you’ll work closely with operational leaders and frontline teams across the South Island, providing practical, hands-on HSE guidance. You’ll play a key role in embedding strong safety practices, supporting incident investigations, and helping us continuously improve how we look after our people.
This role can be based in Nelson or Queenstown, with regular travel to support our wider South Island operations.
What you’ll be doing:
- Partnering with leaders and field staff to foster a strong, values-led safety culture
- Providing advice, coaching, safety training and support across all things Health, Safety & Environment
- Leading and supporting incident investigations using ICAM methodology
- Assisting with risk assessments, site audits, toolboxes, safety alerts and other safety initiatives
- Supporting compliance while keeping HSE practical, approachable, and people-focused
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who combines technical expertise with empathy, collaboration, and great communication.
You’ll bring:
- ICAM investigation training
- Minimum Level 4 OSH or Diploma (preferred) in Occupational Health and Safety and/or NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
- 5+ years’ experience in a HSE advisory role
- Experience in horticulture, arboriculture, or full facilities maintenance (desirable)
- A calm, confident approach and the ability to build trust at all levels
