The Senior Data Scientist will lead the design, development, and optimisation of advanced pricing models that directly support business growth. Working closely with Pricing & Revenue, Product, and Technology teams, the role will integrate diverse data sources, apply machine learning and AI methods, and deliver scalable pricing solutions. It will collaborate with Data and ML Engineers to develop scalable data products and support the productionisation and deployment of pricing models. The role will also build tools and dashboards to deliver insights, and translate complex model outputs into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.

About the opportunity:

·      Full-time, permanent position

·      Based in North Sydney with a hybrid work model

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to lead the design and development of advanced pricing models. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate diverse data sources, optimise machine learning models, and deliver impactful, data-driven pricing strategies that align with business goals. You will also have the opportunity to explore and apply emerging AI capabilities to enhance model performance, accelerate insights, and create innovative pricing solutions

Key responsibilities and experience:

  • Partner with Pricing & Revenue, Product, and Technology teams to source, integrate, and transform data into production-ready assets, enabling scalable and repeatable pricing solutions.
  • Lead the design, development, and optimisation of pricing models using both classic machine learning approaches (e.g., regression, tree-based models, clustering) and potentially emerging AI-driven methods to accelerate insight generation and decision making.
  • Build Python, SQL, and interactive analytics applications to deliver pricing tools, dashboards, and insights.
  • Collaborate with Data and ML Engineers to develop scalable data products and support the product ionisation and deployment of pricing models.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and AI to identify new opportunities, improve model performance, and support pricing strategy simulations.
  • Translate complex model outputs into actionable insights for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to influence pricing decisions.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and consistency of pricing processes.
  • Contribute to the ongoing refinement of pricing guardrails, governance frameworks, and strategic levers in response to market dynamics.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Data Scientist, with exposure to pricing or revenue-related problems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a “can-do” attitude and ability to operate in fast paced, evolving environments.
  • Strong proficiency with Python, SQL, and data visualisation tools.
  • Proficiency in designing, analysing, and managing large data sets.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.

Highly Desirable: 

  • Demonstrated success in productionising machine learning models for business impact.
  • Exposure to Databricks, AWS, and PySpark, with an interest in developing deeper expertise in modern data platforms.
  • Exposure to the Out of Home industry or similar, with an understanding of how pricing impacts commercial outcomes.
  • Familiarity with applying AI techniques to enhance analytics, modelling, or decision making.
  • Experience collaborating with ML Engineering to productionise and scale models.
  • An interest in or exposure to mathematical optimisation concepts, particularly in contexts where pricing plays a central role in the optimisation.
