OneDigital is accelerating the development of a Group retail media network. This will include an investment in shared systems, data and sales capabilities to commercialise retail media across the retail and health divisions.

The Group value proposition is to be Australia’s most relevant and trusted retail media network, delivering incremental value to Wesfarmers, suppliers, advertisers and customers.

With a vision of becoming a Tier One Retail Media player, in market, this can only be achieved through the scale of a group-level media offering.

 This Brand and Trade Marketing Lead will play an instrumental role in building a compelling and differentiated group-level retail media brand - from brand positioning, proposition development, go to market strategy, PR activation and market launch.

Reporting to the General Manager, Retail Media (Customer and Commercial) this key role will lead and work collaboratively with agency partner/s to push boundaries to deliver market leading work in tight deadlines and with a set budget.

What you’ll be doing

  • Position the Wesfarmers Group Retail Media Brand as a leader in the Retail Media category. Name secured and trademarked.
  • Develop and articulate a compelling brand strategy that clearly differentiates the Wesfarmers Group Retail Media network in the Australian market.
  • Secure internal stakeholder alignment on the brand positioning, mission, tone of voice, and value proposition
  • Lead the agency relationship to deliver a complete and cohesive brand toolkit.
  • Deliver all core launch assets in partnership with creative, digital, and content agencies.i
  • Working to produce a leading upfront showcase in September for the official in market launch.
  • Lead the strategy and creative execution for a high-impact upfront event that positions the Group Retail Media network as a Tier One player.
  • Partner with PR and communications teams to build a high-impact awareness campaign ahead of the public launch.
  • Secure earned media coverage in key trade and business publications through strategic storytelling and media outreach.
  • Develop a stakeholder engagement plan to drive visibility with suppliers, advertisers, and agency partners.

What you'll bring to the table

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in brand strategy development / brand management roles – preferably in a brand build role. Retail experience advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in proposition development.
  • Experience in developing and executing new brands to market to achieve cut through and measurable business outcomes (in B2B settings advantageous).
  • Proven experience in GTM planning and PR activation for maximum impact.
  • Extensive experience in effectively managing agency partners with an ability to effectively brief and manage delivery of a steady pipeline of work.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Experience in preparing and managing budgets and projects in high pressure environments.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and experience building a brand from the ground up for big brands.
  • Flawless collaboration & influencing skills that establish rapport quickly.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management.
  • Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills.
