Job: Senior IT Business Analyst – Trading & Supply (Endur)(Contract)

Role Overview
We’re seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business strategy and technology within our Trading & Supply portfolios—specifically Crude & Products and Products Investments. You’ll analyze business problems and requirements, assess risks and opportunities, and model processes and data flows to recommend improvements that deliver measurable value.
In this role, you will:
- Create business cases for approval and funding.
- Maintain clear, traceable documentation from requirements through testing and delivery.
- Validate solutions end-to-end to ensure they meet business needs.
- Collaborate closely with software suppliers and developers.
- Configure and document systems and lead stakeholder engagement and large design sessions.
- Oversee business analysis activities across projects, set strategic direction, and propose process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Alignment: Link technical solutions to business strategy in partnership with business stakeholders.
- Market Insight: Apply knowledge of how competitors leverage IT solutions to gain a competitive edge.
- Stakeholder Leadership: Lead stakeholder management activities, build trust, and create opportunities for engagement.
- Advisory & Enablement: Provide interpretive, advisory, and facilitative services using broad and specialized knowledge to help teams achieve outcomes.
- Coaching & Mentorship: Coach at least one IT Business Analyst (JG 5 or 6) and contribute to skills development across the team.
- Best Practices: Identify gaps and help create new best practice materials; serve as a SME for specific tools, techniques, or business areas.
- Requirements Management: Capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements; translate them into system functionality.
- Risk & Feasibility: Assess risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impact.
- Traceability & Documentation: Maintain clear documentation throughout the lifecycle and ensure traceability from business needs through testing and scope changes to final solution.
- Delivery Management: Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control Business Analysis activities within agreed cost, time, and quality parameters.
- Facilitation: Lead large design workshops and stakeholder management activities.
- Continuous Improvement: Set direction for BA activities and propose process and practice improvements.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Trading & Supply Expertise (required): Strong domain knowledge across front-, middle-, and back-office functions.
- Endur (required): Hands-on experience configuring, enhancing, and/or supporting Endur in Trading & Supply environments.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience with Cmotion, Deal Capture (Front Office), Settlements & Accounting (Back Office), and Tax.
- Business Analysis Excellence: Skilled in BA techniques and tools, business process improvement, benefits realization, and risk management; able to ensure end-to-end traceability from requirements through testing and delivery.
- Agile Delivery: Hands-on experience with Agile frameworks and tools; able to educate stakeholders on Agile ways of working.
- Leadership: 7–10 years in IT with team leadership exposure; ability to lead stakeholder management, design sessions, and broader BA activities.
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; excellent influencing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.
Requested Training or Certifications
- Preferred: CBAP or PMI-PBA.
- Lean: Lean Practitioner training and practical application experience.
- Agile: Certifications or formal training (e.g., Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
Additional Requirements
- Work Authorization: Legal authorization to work in the United States (no sponsorship available).
- Experience Threshold: 10+ years corporate IT experience, including 4+ years as an IT Business Analyst.
- Technology Curiosity: Familiarity with emerging technologies and an ability to learn quickly.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills; stakeholder-centric mindset.
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
- Deliver a funded business case and a clear requirements baseline for at least one major initiative in Trading & Supply.
- Establish robust traceability from business requirements through testing, with measurable benefits realized post go-live.
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across Crude & Products and Products Investments.
- Mentor at least one BA (JG 5/6) and contribute new best-practice materials or reusable artifacts.
- Lead a large design workshop resulting in agreed solution direction and a prioritized backlog aligned to business value.
About the Team
You’ll join a high-impact, cross-functional team at the intersection of trading operations and enterprise technology, working closely with business stakeholders, developers, and external software suppliers to deliver outcomes that move the business.
Pay Rate: $85 hr - $125 hr
