We are now taking expressions of interest for the role of Business & Operations Development Manager (Pre-Opening):
The Larrakia Cultural Centre (LCC) is a place for Larrakia people to share, celebrate and showcase Larrakia country, language, culture, and knowledge with the world.
The LCC aims to:
- Showcase Larrakia Culture and history to the world;
- Enable Larrakia people to continue caring for the land and sea;
- Be economically sustainable and foster economic independence for Larrakia people;
- Maintain Larrakia culture for future generations; and
- Maintain existing links and build new relationships with other Indigenous people in the region and world.
The key goals of the LCC Strategic Plan are:
- A legacy of a successful and sustainable, Larrakia owned and governed cultural centre for future generations.
- All Larrakia come together for cultural matters, sharing and learning to maintain and promote Larrakia cultural knowledge and practices.
- Recognised as the “go to place” for Larrakia knowledge, language, culture and protocols.
- The Darwin region as Larrakia Country is understood through the lens and knowledge of Larrakia saltwater people the Traditional Owners of its land and sea.
- A leading cultural tourism attraction in the Northern Territory
Essential Qualifications:
- Tertiary level qualifications in relevant field, arts, finance, business or similar.
- Computer software skills across word, excel and email platform.
- Darwin based.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Understanding of local Darwin industry, in arts, culture, tourism, and/or hospitality.
- Prior experience in a similar role.
- Existing stakeholder and client relationships in the Greater Darwin region.
- Understanding of LCC market sectors, including grants, and philanthropy.
Skills required to excel in this role include:
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate and consult with the project team and stakeholders, including LCC Working Group and other Larrakia community members.
- Strong alignment to LDC organisational values.
- Commitment to team member development, that supports both organisational and individual goals.
- A high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ability to identify opportunities for growth, whilst establishing goals and objectives of LCC.
- Manage finances and budget expenditure and maintain adherence to the organisation's financial objectives.
