About the Role

The Education Coordinator position is responsible for the coordination and oversight of education at KDHS. The individual needs to demonstrate initiative and the ability to problem-solve within the scope of the role.

 The position extends over all education areas encompassing the role of the Nurse Educator, and along with the Clinical Support Nursing team, provides mentoring, clinical support, and is a clinical resource to clinical staff. The Education Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the Graduate RN and EN Programs, Student Programs (nursing, medical, allied health and work-experience) and supports and participates in the orientation of new staff.

 The Education Coordinator will work closely with NUMs to identify learning needs, and will develop an education plan which aligns to the KDHS strategic plan to coordinate training and learning programs as required.

As a member of the Education team, the appointee will contribute to the overall performance of the team consistent with Kyabram District Health Service Purpose and Values.

 About You

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  •  Advanced clinical knowledge and skills and the ability to teach and mentor.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills and integrity.
  • Ability to develop and undertake competency based assessments.
  • To be competent working in a Microsoft office environment to establish and maintain local information databases relevant to the role.
  •  Commitment to the principles of quality and safety management and evidence based practice in health care.
  • The ability to lead a team, negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders including Tertiary, TAFEs and RTOs.
  • Empathetic and supportive professional role model.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a face paced environment that will require prioritisation and juggling multiple demands
