The Opportunity:

Komatsu has recently won new contract to supply and maintain a fleet of 930E haul trucks and Komatsu PC7000 excavators in the Biloela region.

Multiple new vacancies are now available for experienced Mechanical Fitters to join the Komatsu business. The primary role is to provide mechanical repairs and maintenance pertaining to Komatsu 930-4E electric drive trucks, PC7000-6 excavators, WA1200-6 laoders and other OEM equipment as required by the client.

With a newly awarded 5 yr contract, these roles offer job security and the opportunity to be based residentally. Working along side a team of Komatsu staff to support and complete all Komatsu machine orientated tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on all mobile and ancillary equipment in a timely and cost efficient manner
  • Assist in daily, weekly and long term planning of maintenance schedules as requested
  • Assist in ordering / dispatching of parts through completed field service reports and warranty forms.
  • Communicate with Project Manager in relation to job progress and advise of any special requirements to ensure timely job completion.

The knowledge, skills and abilities we’re looking for:

  • Trade qualifications in Diesel Fitting / Mechanical fitting or equivalent
  • Current Drivers licence
  • Excellent knowledge of Komatsu Machines. Previous experience on Komatsu 930E-4, WA-1200-6, and Komatsu Excavators would be advantageous
  • Experienced with Komatsu Manuals maintenance manuals, parts manuals and schematic drawings and comprehension of them
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • National Accredited Skills such as Aircon, Forklift and Crane Tickets would be advantageous.
  • High level of Auto Electrical Skills
  • Current QLD Coal Board medical and QLD GI passport or ability to obtain one
  • Management Qualifications S123, G2 highly desirable
  • Standard 11 induction required 
  • General knowledge of Microsoft programs
