What You’ll Do

  • Lead and oversee safety team across a large-scale construction site (1,000+ headcount / $1bn value), ensuring effective implementation of health and safety management systems.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
  • Implement governance frameworks to ensure accountability, consistency, and compliance across the site.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to integrate safety into all phases of planning and construction.
  • Analyse assurance data to identify trends, produce reports, and recommend improvements.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to enhance safety awareness and performance.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and internal stakeholders to foster a proactive safety culture.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 5–8 years in a health and safety leadership role within large-scale ($500M+) construction projects.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of construction safety legislation, standards, and best practices.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to drive cultural change and influence decision-makers at all levels.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset to address complex health and safety issues with innovative solutions.
  • Collaboration: Cooperative approach with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated: ‘Can-do’ attitude.
