About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Senior Finance Analyst to join us our Commercial Finance group, based in North Sydney. This role will provide strategic financial/commercial analysis, guidance and advice to the Jemena Network Services Business Unit which is part of Services & Projects (Zinfra) to influence and shape business outcomes and to actively support the achievement of our Strategic Plan.
This role requires you to have a strong understanding of SAP and BI (Business Objects and BPC) as well as demonstrated knowledge and experience in BI and SAP systems (preferably FI/CO/CATS/PS/HR/PM, etc).
Your responsibilities will include
- Perform timely and accurate completion of the Network Services budget/forecast including commentary for the business plan period
- Support and influence strategic financial and commercial support for Networks Services business initiatives to influence and shape business outcomes
- Financial modelling with in-depth variance/scenario analysis and other ad hoc analysis
- Consolidating the reporting of the financial performance across the JNS business
- Develop understanding of functional drivers that have the greatest impact on EBIT and ROA of the Business Unit
- Partner with the business on specific initiatives/projects – i.e. optimisation projects, business cases and other ad-hoc analysis where finance can provide recommendations to the business on an as-need basis
You will be tertiary qualified in a relevant disciple (Business, Commerce or Finance) and have a post graduate qualification (CA/CPA). With advanced computer literacy skills with spreadsheets or modelling, you will also be able to demonstrate your ability to review contracts or key documents and have input into optimising financial outcomes.
With the ability to manage and work with a team of finance professionals and matrix reporting structures, you will also have experience managing strategic finance issues within a large and complex environment where you will provide sound financial commercial assessment on business optimisation and investment opportunities.
Knowledge and experience in the energy / utilities industry is advantageous but not essential.
