About the role:
We are looking for an AMI Communications Engineer to join our Digital team in a fixed term contract (until the end of December 2022) based in Melbourne.
This role will apply AMI communication engineering expertise and accountability in order to deliver asset strategy and asset management of AMI communications and related assets across all relevant assets under management.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure that OT Communications remain available, fit for purpose, and compliant with technical, commercial, and legislative requirements at all times;
- Maintain a high sense of awareness of the Jemena operating environment and solutions landscape;
- Engage with OT Communications service providers internal and external to Jemena ensuring clarity of requirements and specifications and will ensure performance expectations are met.
Our ideal candidate will have:
You will be a Communications Engineer with at least 5 years technical experience working in a safety critical industry (ideally electricity distribution) including credibility with safety regulators.
You will have experience working with the AMI mesh network including strong technical skills which you will utilise to analyse growth areas in the housing network for Jemena in Victoria.
With strong problem solving skills, this role will also have you in the public eye talking to home owners or in the general public so your ability to communicate effectively and provide solutions will be key to your success.
This role will require you to travel to sites across Victoria so the successful candidate must have a current drivers licence and be prepared to travel to site locations as required.
