Tax Manager, Commercial Property

Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Tax Manager will provide professional high-quality tax advisory and compliance services to the business, which supports the achievement of business objectives and ensures that regulatory and compliance obligations are met.


Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the accuracy and timely review and lodgement of trust and company activity statements, income tax returns and fringe benefits tax returns, including research on related issues and drafting of position papers 
  • Review of forecast and annual tax calculations for trusts and determination of tax components
  • Providing advice to the business in relation to tax implications of proposed significant business transactions in consultation with Head of Tax and agreed tax strategy and policies (eg acquisition/disposition of property, group re-structuring, thin capitalisation, financing, tax consolidation) 
  • Provide tax advice to the business on various property-related matters (e.g. lease incentive reviews, lease agreements)
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of new or proposed legislation, regulations and rulings in tax, GST and related areas and advising of any potential impact to the business
  • Assist with managing relationships with external regulatory authorities, including responding to risk review questionnaires and audits 


Candidates will ideally be tertiary qualified in law, finance, accounting or a related discipline with demonstrated experience in corporate tax work, the majority of which has been gained in a professional top tier accounting firm or legal practice.  You will ideally have experience in all tax aspects of M&A transactions and experience in managed investments/funds.
