The Mechanical Assembler under limited supervision, performs a variety of assembly operations associated with the manufacturing of explosive products, small mechanical or electro-mechanical parts, or equipment housing or large equipment such as engines, engine and PTO drive trains, gas compressors, control equipment, covers/cowlings, related connecting lines, etc.

  • Pay Rate: $23.00/hour
  • Assignment Length: 4-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
  • Shift Details: Dayshift: 40 hours per week plus overtime | 5:00 am – 1:30pm |Monday - Friday | Nightshift: 40 hours per week |Monday - Thursday| 10 hours per shift |3:00 pm but can adjust to suit plus overtime

Responsibilities:

  • Assembly process may include fitting, mounting, alignment, adjusting, operational testing, repairs, in-depth troubleshooting and diagnosing, and training of other personnel.
  • May also hand-assemble detonating devices and other explosive products, operate and program semi-automated manufacturing presses and automated powder weighing machines, and maintain and issue safety equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Skills typically acquired through 2-3 years of related assembly experience.
  • Proficient in a range of assembly functions, including pressure testing and torquing.
  • Strong commitment to and engagement with the safety culture of the workplace.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and adhere to schedules.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with shifting priorities.
  • Capable of meeting production demands and attentively following requirements.
  • Willingness to actively engage with the team, learn quickly, and contribute to meeting the large production needs of the Screens business unit.
  • Eagerness to work diligently and learn new skills rapidly.
  • Strong team player who listens to and respects the guidance and expectations set by team leads.
