What a day in the life of an Electrical Fitter looks like:

  • Energising and commissioning new services to undeveloped land areas know as Greenfield Estates.
  • Assisting in the construction of a new substations to support new infrastructure around Canberra.
  • Both planned and unplanned maintenance on our existing network including repairs to faults.
  • Planned maintenance on our large distribution Transformers on one of our electrical Zone Substations.
  • Creating electricity connection, from Evoenergy's network to a customer's premise.

What a day in the life of a Lineworker looks like:

  • Installing or relocating Evoenergy’s power poles and wires known as our overhead network for new commercial or residential developments.
  • Maintaining Evoenergy’s existing overhead network to ensure a safe & reliable electricity supply, both in the city as well as out in rural areas of the ACT.
  • Assisting Evoenergy’s customers in the connection/disconnection of overhead services to their residential premises, for customers who might be renovating, demolishing, or rebuilding their home.
  • Investigating & repairing overhead faults to restore supply to Evoenergy’s customers when a power outage occurs.
  • Working collaboratively in a team of Lineworkers to maintain the Evoenergy network.


About you

  • Year 12 Certificate or TAFE qualification equivalent (preferred)
  • Previous experience working in a team-based job and/or evidence of teamwork outside of work
  • ACT Driver's License or equivalent
