Job Overview

The Inside Sales Advisor serves as a primary point of contact between the client and its large-volume distribution contract-rate customers. This role supports the Large Commercial & Industrial Business Development team by building, maintaining, and strengthening customer and internal stakeholder relationships. The position plays a key role in driving revenue growth, supporting contract negotiations, and contributing to strategic and financial planning initiatives within the Industrial Market Development division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the growth and development of relationships with large-volume commercial and industrial customers across multiple sectors in Ontario
  • Apply sales best practices and relationship management strategies to deliver incremental revenue opportunities
  • Lead customer load quotation activities from project initiation through internal coordination, customer communication, and timely in-service completion
  • Negotiate new service agreements with customers, including distribution contracts, confidentiality agreements, indemnification agreements, and related commercial arrangements
  • Provide market intelligence, customer insights, reporting, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and internal stakeholders on complex matters
  • Contribute directly to strategic planning, growth initiatives, and financial forecasting for the Industrial Market Development division
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless customer experience and operational alignment

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in business, engineering, economics, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of four years of experience in sales or business development within the energy, utilities, or related industry
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Understanding of regulatory environments, operational processes, financial principles, and growth strategies considered an asset
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% to client offices and customer locations across Ontario; use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment with occasional high-visibility and fast-paced demands
