Public Relations Intern – Auckland

 About the Role 

We are seeking a motivated and curious PR Intern who is keen to learn the ropes of agency PR and gain practical, real-world experience working across integrated communications campaigns. 

Working closely with senior team members, you’ll support the execution of PR activity across earned media, digital and social/influencer marketing while developing core skills in writing, research, media relations and campaign support. 

This role is ideal for someone studying towards or recently graduated in PR, Communications, Journalism or Marketing, who’s excited to build a career in agency-side communications. 

Key Responsibilities 

Support the team across day-to-day PR activity, including: 

  • Conducting media research and helping to build and maintain media lists 
  • Monitoring media coverage and assisting with coverage reports 
  • Supporting social media activity, including content scheduling, community management and social listening 
  • Assisting with events, launches and campaign activations where required 
  • Providing general account and administrative support to the PR team 
  • Contributing ideas and insights in brainstorms and team discussions 

Skills & Experience 

We’re looking for someone who: 

  • Is currently studying or recently graduated in PR, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field 
  • Basic understanding of PR, media relations or social media platforms 
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Is organised, detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple tasks 
  • Has a genuine interest in media, brands, digital and social platforms 
  • Is proactive, reliable and keen to learn 
  • Works well in a team environment and takes direction confidently 
  • Has a positive attitude and enthusiasm for agency life
