Branch: Transport Planning and Operations

Salary Range: Band 7 AUD $123,340 – $134,848 per annum + superannuation + a possible further benefits package dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

Work type: Temporary Full-time, based at Brisbane Square

Duration: Up to 12 months with possibility of extension thereafter but not guaranteed

Our Branch

Transport Planning and Operations play a key role in planning, maintaining, and operating the road network and implementing the Transport Plan for Brisbane to facilitate an efficient and sustainable transport network.

In this Role

With a focus on safe engineering practices, you will provide engineering services to contribute to the efficient traffic and road systems, working within a responsive team who turn challenges into opportunities and aspirations into achievements. This role focuses on alleviating congestion by evaluating road corridors and implementing practical solutions for a safe road environment. Fostering relationships and decision making are crucial, consulting with the wider team and assisting traffic management in planned incidents, monitoring of traffic movements through intersections, and modifying signal controller personalities to suit travel demands.

To be successful you will demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of traffic operations principals, traffic signals, road design, and construction experience
  • a high level of experience and understanding of traffic engineering standards and legislation
  • strong liaison skills with key internal stakeholders and customers
  • demonstrated project management skills, time management and well-developed communication skills
  • degree qualifications in engineering and either RPEQ or ability to obtain RPEQ status within 3 months of being appointed to the position.
  • current C class drivers’ licence.
