Our Branch - Development Services
We play a key role to facilitate Brisbane’s growth, so our unique, subtropical capital continues to offer quality of life for visitors and residents.
Our branch is the destination for applications relating to development, including engineering and plumbing. We have an amazing team of dedicated, passionate, and service focused professional people who have our residents, building and construction industry and communities at the heart of what they do.
The Role
Reporting to the Planning Services Manager, this role will see you managing a team whose key role is to proactively engage with the Brisbane community and the development industry to minimise impacts during construction and achieve quality development outcomes.
As Team Manager you ensure that your team provides excellent development assessment outcomes in a highly legislative, complex, and sensitive environment. You will bring a strategic focus and actively look for improvement and collaboration opportunities. Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to consult, negotiate and successfully liaise with diverse stakeholders. This is an integral role that will see you contribute through your proactive attitude to help shape the strategic direction of Planning Services section and reach the best outcomes for Brisbane.
To be successful you will have:
- experience in leading, motivating and developing people, and growing future leaders
- excellent negotiation, interpersonal, influencing, and problem-solving skills
- experience in the delivery of policy and projects in one or more of the areas of statutory and non-statutory planning, environmental and parks management, sustainability, engineering, asset management or construction
- ability to accurately apply relevant legislation to decision making
- ability to engage, influence and work with the leadership team to drive continuous improvement
- highly developed stakeholder relationship skills.
