Construction continues to deliver consistent, high quality, value for money, whole of life infrastructure. Our comprehensive knowledge of project services and assets enables us to communicate and negotiate for the best long-term options to meet the needs of the rate payers and residents of Brisbane. Construction delivers an extensive range of high-quality specialist services in the areas of infrastructure, stormwater drainage, bridge maintenance, transport network technologies, trades and land remediation.
We are seeking an Assistant Planner to support the Traffic Network Services (TNS) planning team with scheduled capital works projects for council’s Traffic signals network, ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) and lighting assets.
The Role:
You will be a member of a small team and will support TNS by:
- monitoring scheduled works and, in collaboration with the Senior Planner, identifying and actioning Traffic Management requirements for planned construction works.
- generating Work orders and Purchase orders to support accurate cost capture in SAP.
- maintaining project plans and project documentation in Records Manager through the life of each project
- undertaking a range of administrative tasks including project schedule updates, Before You Dig Australia requests, creating work packages for field teams etc.
- assisting other planners with workload in specific work activities as required.
About you:
- you want to work in a committed small team environment that achieves results and considers the customer in everything we do
- you have demonstrated ability to identify key work activities and issues in a construction environment.
- you have the interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively to achieve outcomes with managers, suppliers, subcontractors and stakeholders.
- you have the ability to learn administrative skills to effectively utilise computer systems, Apps and programs including the Microsoft Suite, SAP (including AWM), MS Project, Project Online and deliver results in a project-based work environment.
- possession of Work Safely in the Construction Industry - CPCCOHS1001A (White Card) or equivalent
