About the role:

Join our dynamic and inclusive team, where you will play a key role in providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities. As a Team Leader, you will guide and support a team of General Hands to carry out cleaning and general maintenance tasks across a variety of commercial sites. Your leadership will contribute to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities, while ensuring the successful achievement of operational and financial goals. Key Responsibilities:

  • General cleaning, vacuuming, bathrooms/toilets, mopping, dusting and laundry.
  • Washing walls/windows
  • Light domestic duties
  • The Team Leader will support the General Hands to build positive team relationships that reflected our values.
  • Supported employees are assisted to develop new skills and achieve employment goals.
  • Tasks were completed consistent with instructions from team leaders and supervisors, as well as contract specifications and scheduling requirements.

About You:

  • A demonstrated commitment to the Aruma Code of Conduct.  
  • Cert III in Cleaning Operations or equivalent knowledge and exp in commercial cleaning
  • Experience and knowledge in problem solving to solve cleaning, contracts and scheduling issues
  • Effective verbal and written communication with ability to adapt communication as appropriate to their audience.
  • Negotiation skills, able to resolve conflict and assess when to escalate issues.
  • Sound organisational skills and ability to prioritise work of a small team.
  • A high level of physical fitness to meet the manual handling and environmental requirements of the position.
  • White card, basic understanding of WHS requirements.
  • Hold a valid driver's licence
  • Be willing to undergo a Police Check
  • Hold a current NDIS Check or be willing to obtain

Desirable

  • Formal team leadership training and/or equivalent knowledge and experience with demonstrated ability to supervise and support staff.
  • Experience with working with people with disabilities, particularly in a service provision context
