Who are we looking for?
AnglicareSA Suicide Prevention Service works across the Adelaide Hills supporting people following a recent suicide attempt, or suicidal crisis.
We are seeking a passionate mental health professional or case manager who is able to work collaboratively and creatively with clients from a strengths-based approach. You will be integral in developing the clients support plan and safety strategies. Case Managers support clients to address psychosocial issues and environmental factors that contribute to their life stressors, rather than providing therapeutic mental health support.
The Adelaide Hills service covers the regions around Mt Barker and Strathalbyn.
What can you expect to be doing?
- Coordinate home visits to provide practical and emotional support
- Provide connection and referral to appropriate support services
- Actively network with other relevant service providers
- Assist clients and families in understanding suicidal behaviours
- Develop clear goals with individuals and families and monitor achievements
What do you need to bring?
- Experience working with families and individuals affected by suicide
- Experience in the mental health field, or in case management
- Effective communication skills and ability to engage with clients and families from a diverse range of backgrounds
- Additional specialist training in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, motivational interviewing, or cognitive behaviour therapy is highly desirable
Qualifications and Special Conditions required:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work
- National Police History Check (NPC) / Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Australian Driver’s licence
