Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an empathetic and proactive individual with a strong background in mental health and wellbeing to play a strategic and hands-on role in supporting employee mental health and overall wellbeing across our organisation.

You will be a clear communicator able to convey initiatives and recommendations using effective and accessible messaging. A pro-active view of problem solving is essential, along with a non-judgemental approach to supporting both employees and programs.

You'll utilise your expertise in mental health to support psychosocial wellbeing strategies and drive psychosocial workplace safety including the delivery of mental health first aid training (licensing as a MHFA will be supported).

You must be skilled at building and maintaining strong relationships with employees and managers at all levels of the organisation, with experience working with a range of diverse stakeholders. 

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate mental health strategies tailored to address key risks and improve workplace psychosocial controls.
  • Provide expert advice on psychosocial risks, critical incidents, and fitness-for-work matters.
  • You'll support leaders and employees by preparing fitness-for-work letters and developing wellbeing plans.
  • Partnering with Work Health Safety and People & Culture teams, you'll work to reduce stigma and increase mental health awareness.
  • You'll facilitate training programs, support post-incident responses and monitor trends to continuously improve mental health initiatives.

What do you need to bring?

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Allied Health, such as Bachelors or Master’s degree in psychology or a related field, with a strong emphasis on psychological health.
  • Experience in trauma-informed care.
  • Expertise in training and mental health education.
  • Ability to identify and address psychological factors affecting work performance and safety.
  • Strong rapport-building skills across all organisational levels.
  • Proficiency in analysing health and safety data to mitigate risks and ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy.
  • Excellent written communication skills for reports and proposals and strong organisational skills to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including effective negotiation, conflict resolution and mediation abilities.
