About the Role

As a Solutions Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in the success of our product and project lifecycle, from concept to customer delivery. This role is crucial to Ampcontrol’s growth strategy. You’ll work closely with key stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities and deliver impactful outcomes. A continuous improvement mindset is critical, as is the ability to spend time in the market to gain first-hand insights into customer challenges and opportunities.

Reporting to the Solutions Lead, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation and business development, working collaboratively across teams to deliver products that support Ampcontrol’s strategy and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Lifecycle Management

  • Define and articulate a clear product vision aligned with customer and business needs. Lead product planning and execution throughout the lifecycle, ensuring strategic fit with Ampcontrol’s goals. Collaborate with engineering, sales, and marketing teams to deliver innovative solutions informed by strong market intelligence.

Customer Engagement & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential customers to ensure Ampcontrol’s solutions are specified in upcoming projects. Develop strategic partnerships with key industry players, represent customer needs internally, and promote our value proposition across target markets.

Tendering & Contract Management

  • Manage end-to-end tender processes including scope reviews, site inspections, and subcontractor engagement. Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate costing and competitive solution development. Support delivery of smaller contracts to meet budget, timeline, and customer satisfaction targets.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical trade qualification 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical power system engineering
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of substation design processes
  • Strong communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Well-organised with excellent time management and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Customer-focused and service-oriented
