We are currently seeking a Supply Supervisor to join our team. permanent full-time position at our Simberi Operation. Your work location is Papua New Guinea, working a 21/14 Roster from Kavieng, Rabaul, Port Moresby, Lae, Mt Hagen, Madang, Goroka, Alotau, Wapenamanda, Popondetta, Hoskins, Wewak, Vanimo, or Tabar group of Islands. Reporting to the Supply Superintendent, the Supply Supervisor is to provide support & guidance to all Supply department personnel in the functions of warehousing, logistics and purchasing. The role will require, in conjunction with the Supply Superintendent, to provide warehouse and inventory management services and ensure the expeditious transport of goods to site, expedite purchase orders and update shipment information. Support the purchasing of goods and services for the Site in line with customers’ expectations and employ best practice and professional tools and techniques to ensure a sustainable supply function at Simberi Gold Company Limited (SGCL).

The opportunity
Technical Accountabilities
- Contribute to ensuring the Health and Safety of all personnel.
- Ensure compliance with SGCL reporting procedures for any reportable incident.
- Ensure 100% compliance with Personal Protective Equipment requirements for all work areas.
- Supervise, coach, and lead the Supply team to provide a high level of support and services to site, ensuring the following are completed:
- Establishment and maintenance of relationships with all SGCL external suppliers, contractors, and providers
- Liaison with St Barbara Logistics staff to maintain seamless support to SGCL site operations.
- Reporting, analysis and monitoring the performance of all Supply functions performed on site.
- Expediting site purchase orders providing reports to the Supply Superintendent
- Ensure shipment reporting at POM and Lae and from Lae/Simberi and POM/Simberi is updated and maintained to ensure accurate expediting reports for SGCL.
- Actively working with site Maintenance staff to ensure cost effective and efficient planning for shutdowns and emergency breakdowns.
- Creation and maintenance of policies, procedures, and workflows for the Supply department activities from end-to-end inventory and warehouse management to logistics and transportation
- Ensuring all purchasing and expediting activities are met and achieved in compliance with site and corporate procurement policies.
- Developing clear and concise scopes of work for the supply of goods and services on site
- Ensuring the effective delivery of all agreed services to internal and external customers of SGCL at the required standards by establishing effective relationships and proactively participating in the culture of excellent service including the need to process approved requisitions to purchase orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintaining a proactive view and identification of customer needs and service improvement opportunities, responding quickly to those needs
- Mentoring a strong governance culture across all Supply department functions, leading to a strong governance culture that complies with SGCL and Corporate policy.
- Ensuring that the warehousing needs of SGCL are met and achieved in a manner compliant with site and corporate supply policies and ensuring safe storage of all goods and equipment.
- Ensuring all Dangerous Goods (DG) are stored and handled in accordance with DG legislation and SGCL policy.
- Maintenance and management of active programs to ensure minimization of wasted or damaged material.
- Timely and appropriate review and resolution of inventory discrepancies, variances and promptly apply corrective actions – ensuring all documentation is passed to the Supply Superintendent for appropriate delegate approvals.
- Managing cyclical and wall to wall stock takes in accordance with SGCL policy.
- Classification of critical spares to ensure stock availability of vital items to support production.
Scheduling Accountabilities
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting within the Supply department.
- Assist Supply Superintendent to develop and coordinate operational and capital budgets for SGCL Supply department.
People Accountabilities
- Contribute toward good communication within the Supply Department as well as the overall Finance & Administration Department and SGCL, by developing and maintaining a team environment which is conducive to two-way communication.
- Contribute towards the maintenance of the image of a professional Service Department that is available to provide all necessary services/duties requested by other Departments.
- Provide assistance and support to the Supply Superintendent when requested.
- Provide assistance to members of the Finance & Administration Department when requested.
- Ensure own work performance meets all role requirements and take appropriate action to develop in the current role.

Essential
- Behaviour consistent with St Barbara Values
- At least 5 years relevant mining or utilities experience
- Proficient in PRONTO system as it relates to purchasing, inventory, warehousing, and shipping modules.
- Strong ability to work effectively within and lead a team.
- Strong communication skills, including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks.
- High level of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals
Desirable
- A tertiary qualification in Supply Management
- International exposure
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment
- Bunkering operations qualifications/certifications
- Train the Trainer Certification
