Zinfra provides services to the utilities sector including engineering, maintenance, construction and operation services.
We are currently recruiting a Gas Technician (Plumbing qualified) who will be responsible for the delivery and quality control of gas meter installations in domestic and commercial settings in field based locations reporting to Team Leader Gas Metering.
The position will work autonomously and as such will need to exercise judgment, set priorities, and meet strict deadlines. You will ensure all safety, operational procedures, and network standards are implemented and adhered to.
About the role:
- Complete quality checks to ensure that the meter installation is compliant according to specifications and Jemena Network Operator Rules.
- Minimise any potential compliance gaps by enhancing the enforcement of Safety Standards for Gas Fitting and the integrity of the meter installation.
- With additional responsibilities when required
- Ensure the maintenance and integrity of the gas distribution system to maintain supply meeting KPI and contractual obligations
High quality workmanship and the ability to work to a deadline are of the utmost importance. You will be a team player with excellent face to face customer communication skills and your attention to detail in accurately completing and lodging paperwork on time is a must.
Valid plumbing/gasfitters qualifications and experience in the gas trade is essential. Past experience in metering systems, Codes, and Regulations will be highly regarded. A high level of analytical and problem solving skills and demonstrated high level of accuracy and attention to detail will enable you to succeed in this role. A current valid driver’s license and construction white card is also a requirement of the role.
