Specialist – Scheduler
Public Transport Network Planning | Melbourne-Based
Join Kinetic, Australia’s largest and most trusted mass transit bus operator, as we continue to shape efficient and reliable public transport networks across Melbourne.
We are seeking a Specialist – Scheduler to support our tram and bus scheduling operations. Based in Melbourne, this is a flexible role with the option to work from home up to two days per week, and depot access available at Sunshine, Fitzroy, and Doncaster.
What you’ll be doing:
- Developing and maintaining timetables, schedules and rosters for our bus and tram services using Hastus (or similar scheduling software such as Austrics)
- Analysing network performance to identify and rectify scheduling issues
- Supporting the delivery of Kinetic’s Planning Annual Plan and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., Department of Transport and Planning)
What we’re looking for:
- Experience using Hastus strongly preferred (Austrics or other scheduling software also considered)
- Bus and tram scheduling experience only – train scheduling is not applicable to this role
- Strong analytical and computer skills – this is not an operational role
- Self-starter who is comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Confident Excel user with strong communication and organisational skills
