About the role

We are seeking a Specialist – Product Engineering to play a key role in the delivery and management of IT infrastructure services and product backlogs. This position ensures that products are reliable, scalable, and aligned with business requirements, while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across our digital and technology operations.

What the role will involve

  • Manage the delivery of IT infrastructure and support services across Water Corporation.
  • Provide technical expertise and services across the product backlog to deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Monitor, review, and improve the performance and quality of IT infrastructure services.
  • Support the planning and future direction of infrastructure in partnership with architecture teams.
  • Oversee the management of Data Centres and ensure risks are mitigated relating to continuity, security, and compliance.
  • Engage with stakeholders and service providers to ensure IT services are delivered effectively.
  • Evaluate and escalate high-risk backlog items with clear analysis and recommendations.
  • Drive continuous improvement, customer-focused service delivery, and operational excellence.

Key skills and experience 

  • A degree in a relevant technology discipline (e.g., Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
  • Substantial experience in IT infrastructure delivery and management in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Strong IT administration/coordination experience, including contract and project management.
  • Broad technical knowledge across IT infrastructure and applications.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive, forward-thinking approach with strong accountability and results focus.

(Desirable): ITIL/IT Service Management training, Agile/SAFe certifications, and platform administration certifications.
