Our client is a Vancouver-based breakthrough energy technology company developing a novel methane pyrolysis platform for low-cost, clean hydrogen production. We believe this technology will have a significant and positive impact in a world trying to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address Climate Change. Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Cad Designer to join our product development team who will support the design of our clients integrated system process plants.  

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Engineering drafting support for CAD drafting and 3D modelling design using AutoCAD Electrical, AutoDesk Vault (PDM) and/or Plant 3D.  2D and 3D layouts of laboratory plant equipment for in-house construction/assembly. 
  • 3D layout of plant designs for visualization. 
  • Drafting of process P&ID drawings. 
  • Electrical cabinet drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Electrical controls and instrumentation wiring diagrams. 
  • Support and training to other engineers using AutoCAD products. 
  • Support for the development of standard drawings, asset libraries and document templates. 
  • Support for the development of efficient drafting and design workflows to increase the speed of concept to build design cycles. 
  • Other drafting and CAD design tasks as identified or required. 
  • Design document organization and management such as organizing native files according to project standards, maintaining drawing status lists and manage bluebeam review sessions. 


You bring: 

  •  Technologist diploma, degree or similar education. 5+ years experience in CAD drafting and design, preferably within process engineering environments. 
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoDesk Vault (PDM), Plant 3D and Navisworks. 
  • Familiarity with reading and creating process P&IDs. 
  • Familiarity with electrical drawings including cabinet drawings, wiring diagrams as well as network and grounding drawings. 
  • Experience with industrial process automation system documentation is an asset. 
  • Exceptional communication abilities both written and verbal. 
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
