Our client is a multi-disciplined engineering consulting firm based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Since 2007, they has provided professional engineering solutions to the oil and gas industry, currently specializing primarily in truck and rail transloading facilities. Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intermediate Electrical & Control Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical and control system upgrades, coupled with a proven track record of success in small to medium brownfield projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in electrical equipment sizing, specifications, and draw packages, along with proficiency in person-hour estimating and collaborative project management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of electrical and control system upgrades for industrial projects.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of existing systems to identify areas for improvement and upgrade opportunities.
  • Develop detailed electrical equipment sizing and specifications in compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive draw packages, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings, to support project execution.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members as needed.
  • Conduct person-hour estimating and resource planning to support project budgeting and scheduling processes.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements related to electrical and control systems.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in electrical and control engineering within an EPC or similar environment.
  • Proven expertise in electrical and control system upgrades, with a focus on brownfield projects.
  • Strong proficiency in electrical equipment sizing, specifications, and draw package development.
  • Demonstrated ability to estimate person-hours accurately and effectively manage project resources.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work within established timelines and budgets.
  • Professional engineering licensure or certification preferred.
