General Accountability
The Field Service Supervisor oversees field service projects, managing labour, equipment, and resources to complete work safely, on schedule, and within estimated hours. This role bridges field teams and management, ensuring project documentation, scope changes, and client requirements are effectively addressed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise Field Service Representatives, providing daily direction, technical support, and coaching.
- Allocate and track project hours; charge at least 80% of worked hours to jobs and ensure projects remain within estimated budgets.
- Use scope acknowledgement forms to manage and document any scope changes.
- Complete job reports within three weeks after project completion.
- Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, and material needs with Project Managers and the Field Service Manager.
- Approve test sheets, review technical client reports, and prepare quotations as required.
- Represent the company professionally on client sites, supporting business development and maintaining client relationships.
- Maintain and ensure proper use of assets, tools, vehicles, and keep job sites and shop areas clean.
- Participate in weekly scheduling meetings and the 24-hour emergency response rotation.
- Complete administrative requirements, including time sheets, expense reports, vehicle logs, and field tickets.
- Support a safe working environment by following policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Demonstrate and maintain technical competence by achieving at least 80% on internal technical training.
Position Requirements
- Previous experience as a Field Service Representative.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Professional attitude, appearance, and self-motivation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Safety-focused mindset with a commitment to ongoing learning and compliance.
Qualifications (one of the following):
- Power Systems Electrician
- Electrical Engineering Technologist
- Journeyman Electrician
- Electrical Engineer
Training & Certifications
Ongoing recertification and training required, including First Aid, WHMIS, H2S Alive, Fall Arrest, Confined Space, Arc Flash Awareness, plus NETA certifications, manufacturer-specific technical training, and supervisor development courses.
