Position Overview
- Reporting directly to the Sr. Project Manager, you will join the Major Projects team as a Project Manager, building some of the most meaningful and needed multi-year Hospital projects in British Columbia. These projects range from $30 - $400 million with a typical duration of 3 to 7 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage time, cost, quality, risks and financial performance of assigned scope.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the assigned scope of the design-build process, in collaboration with user groups, engineers, architects, and vendors
- Develop, review, and provide feedback on project schedules.
- Assemble submittals and other project documentation (including technical, safety, environmental, QA/QC, insurance, bonding, permits, etc.)
- Purchase materials and equipment ensuring delivery on schedule
- Estimate changes to scope and value engineering options
- Collaborate with construction team to plan, monitor, and manage labor requirements
- Lead, manage, and mentor assigned Junior Project Managers or Project Coordinators to ensure their development
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of construction project management experience (Electrical Background a PLUS!)
- 3+ years’ experience in full project lifecycle focused on Hospital Projects
- Demonstrated experience as the lead project manager leading multiple contract values of over $7 million is required
- Experience supporting and overseeing the Design Build process
- Experience creating, monitoring and updating project schedules – someone who can understand the technical/electrical and financial pieces from a PM perspective
- Experience estimating projects and/or changes (if candidate doesn’t have hands-on estimating experience, they must be proficient in estimating language and understanding project costs)
- Experience with tools such as Procore and Accubid
- PMP designation. If no PMP, a Red Seal designation with proven leadership experience
- Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or relating (Civil Engineering will not be a fit for this role)
