We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Rotating Reliability Engineer with specialized expertise in asset strategy development and experience as a GE APM / Meridium user. This role will play a pivotal part in enhancing the reliability and performance of our assets through strategic planning, data-driven analysis, and optimization efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of reliability engineering principles, coupled with familiarization in utilizing GE APM (Meridium) software to maximize asset performance and minimize downtime.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Must be a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Alberta.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working in an Oil and Gas Refinery or equivalent in a reliability/maintenance and/or operations role.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience, conducting RCA, performing Reliability Analytics, Reviewing Failure History data, assessing asset criticality, developing and implementing Asset Strategy
  • Experience with developing Asset Strategies using RCM, FMEA, Library, OEM Recommendation, regulatory requirements etc.
  • Well versed in typical rotating equipment failures, troubleshooting, maintenance strategies, such as condition based and predictive based technics and their technologies /tools. Must be able to analyze condition based and predictive based data and provide recommendations.
  • Experience in developing spares strategies based on asset strategies recommendations.
  • Knowledge of API, ASME and ISO14224 standards as they pertain to pumps, turbines, compressors, and other rotating equipment.
  • Experience in Asset Performance Management software(s), development and monitoring Asset Health indicators, Asset Strategy and SAP Plant Maintenance Module is preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Asset Strategy Development:

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive asset reliability strategies (such as basic operator care, PMs, Condition Based & Predictive based maintenance) to optimize performance, reduce downtime, and minimize maintenance costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify critical assets, define performance metrics, and establish proactive maintenance plans aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Base line existing asset / maintenance strategies. Then using operating context and asset strategy library develop recommended asset strategies in GE APM application. Determine the gap between recommended strategies and existing strategies. Influence site reliability rotating engineers to implement the gap.
  • Determine spares aligning asset strategies.
  • Develop and implement asset strategy and asset health in GE APM application in collaboration with maintenance planner and GE APM specialists.
  • Lead/ contribute to developing rotating equipment catalog (failure) profiles.


2. Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by proactively identifying areas for enhancement in asset reliability, maintenance processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement best practices, standardize processes, and foster a culture of reliability excellence across the organization.


3. Analytical Model Development:

  • Capable of contributing to the design, development, and validation of analytical models to predict equipment reliability, performance degradation, and failure modes.
  • Familiar with statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and physics-based modeling approaches to capture complex system behaviors and interactions.
  • Capable of developing sensor gap scope to perform predictive maintenance.
