Your opportunity:

At TPG, we are constantly looking for future technologies to bring the best network services and solutions to our customers. The Senior Engineer will be focused on the management of scam and fraud on TPG’s Networks with a focus on Voice, Messaging and Signalling domains. You will work with stakeholders both internal and external to investigate, identify, block the scam and fraud treats while developing and delivering enhancements to our capability.

You'll make impact by:

  • Protect actively investigate the network, looking for way to improve the network to prevent new fraudulent traffic and protect our customers from scams.
  • Working with our front-line fraud team and support organisations to detect and prevent scam and fraudulent traffic from reaching our customers.
  • Develop/Enhance detection rules, to improve accuracy, reduce false positives and address new threats or attacks.
  • Create and update all relevant documentation, including but not limited to design documentation, deployment procedures, configuration files, test plans etc.
  • Perform Change Management duties. Implementation of changes and upgrades.
  • Manage customer and network faults and escalations by any means necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of systems, applications, and technology issues.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, can work alone and have excellent communication skills with team colleagues as well as other staff, management and customers.
  • Manage and deliver system changes including software upgrades, security patching and configuration needed to maintain the supportability and efficiency of the fraud systems and potentially other system within the TPG Core Domain.
  • Be familiar with relevant government regulation and work with the relevant TPG stakeholders to undertake:
  • Assessments and provide feedback of new or changes to regulations.
  • Implementation of changes to ensure compliance to the regulations.
  • Provide support, guidance and leader items within the Scam and Fraud landscape.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience of mobile core network delivery and/or support.
  • Proven experience in fraud analytics, financial crime prevention, or risk management.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis using tools such as Splunk and Elastic.
  • Scripting knowledge using regular expressions.
  • Experience with machine learning or AI-based systems highly desirable.
  • Strong Linux System administration skills.
  • Mobile Network Knowledge..
  • Expert level knowledge of SIP, SMS and MMS architecture and signalling.
  • Knowledge of approaches to recognise and manage scam and fraud traffic.
  • Knowledge of Australian regulation related to security, scam and fraud management.
