Your opportunity:

You will be accountable for design, implementation and engineering support tasks in the TPG Mobile Voice Domain (IMS). You will ensure a close working relationship with the other engineering domains, the broader TPG organisation and the relevant vendors and suppliers. With a focus on IMS Core Elements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create, Update:
  • Solution Documentation
  • High Level Designs
  • Detailed Designs
  • Requirements documentation
  • Configuration/Data Fill
  • Implementation Plans including method of procedures (MOP)
  • Test plans and cases
  • Specifications
  • Perform in both test (model) and production environments:
  • Drive allocated projects to completion
  • Design changes
  • Execution and review of test cases
  • Implementation/testing of changes
  • Submission of designs and implementations to review boards
  • Peer reviews of designs and implementations
  • Completion of operational readiness activities and handover to operations
  • Management all aspects of small to medium deliveries including raising of CR’s, coordination with other teams, scheduling of work.
  • Support TPG with subject matter knowledge in the Mobile Voice Engineer Voice and Messaging Domain’s with a key focus on the following network systems:
  • IMS Core
  • MTAS
  • SBG
  • CSCF
  • IP WORKS
  • AFG
  • EMM
  • MRS (MGW)
  • STP
  • SCP
  • DRA
  • Including legacy MSC and MGW
  • All relevant mobile use cases including but not limited to:
  • Mobile Calls
  • Emergency Calling
  • WIFI Calling
  • Messaging Voicemail, SMS, MMS
  • Inbound and Outbound Roaming
  • You must possess the following skills:
  • Detailed knowledge of IMS Call Flows and relevant protocols and 3GPP Specifications, such as SIGTRAN, MAP, CAP, ISUP SIP/RTP, Diameter
  • Scripting, regular expression knowledge and detailed understanding of SMM rulesets
  • Have relevant knowledge and skill in:
  • Operational support systems such NetScout, Ericsson Analytics, Splunk
  • Operating System and Virtualization technologies such as Redhat Linux (RHEL) and Open Stack

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Telecommunications or Engineering or closely related discipline
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience of mobile core network delivery and/or support.
  • Proven design and implementation experience in a Mobile Voice Core environment. Experience with an Ericsson and/or Nokia Core equipment or IMS/VoLTE would be an advantage.
  • Manage and deliver system changes including software upgrades, security patching and configuration needed to update, maintain and keep secure the Mobile Core systems and architectures
  • Liaise with internal teams and vendor partners to deliver projects
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis using tools such as Splunk and Elastic.
  • Scripting knowledge using regular expressions.
  • Experience with machine learning or AI-based systems highly desirable.
  • Strong Linux System administration skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills,
  • Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple priorities while demonstrating strong teamwork and excellent communication skills when engaging with colleagues, management, and customers.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical matters to non-technical stakeholders both internal and external

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Ability to communicate complex technical matters to non-technical stakeholders both internal and external
  • Advanced knowledge of Mobile Core Network architecture, traffic and signalling flows, including International and National Roaming Architectures
  • Be familiar with relevant Australian Government regulation and codes related to the Mobile Networks and work with the relevant TPG stake holders to undertake:
  • Assessments and provide feedback of new or changes to regulations
  • Implementation of changes to ensure compliance to the regulations
  • Be familiar with TPG policies and procedures, as well as completing any associated training, as communicated or made available on the intranet and our learning systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
