Your opportunity:
You will shape the ongoing evolution of virtualised and containerised core platforms, enabling automation-driven efficiencies and supporting new services on TPG’s 4G and 5G Standalone (SA) networks.
This role requires a close working relationship with other engineering domains, the broader technology organisation, business stakeholders, relevant vendors, and industry forums. You will lead initiatives that simplify processes, reduce operational complexity, and accelerate deployment through automation.
This role will report into the Manager, CNA Planning and Automation
You'll make impact by:
- Development and planning of end-to-end automated solutions to enable new network capabilities and define the automation architecture evolution in support of TPG Telecom’s business and strategic objectives.
- Define and drive the Core Network Application automation roadmap, ensuring technical governance of automation initiatives, aligning with business objectives and technology standards.
- Develop and oversee automation solution design and implementation for automation projects. Drive vendor governance to achieve efficient and timely technical outcomes.
- Support the driving of all Domain projects from initiation through to closure to achieve the required architectural and planning outcomes.
- Support feasibility assessments for Business or Technology driven initiatives, as required.
- Support operations team as required in the event of system outage or poor performance.
What you’ll bring:
- At least 10 years’ experience in Mobile Telecommunications industry.
- At least 5 years applied experience in managing or leading a small team.
- Strong Governance and technology strategic thinking skills
- Strong organisational skills, analytical and planning skills
- Knowledge and experience of Network Function Virtualisation, Orchestration and Automation, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and/or cloud deployment technologies would be beneficial
Ideally, you will also have:
- Tertiary or equivalent qualifications in Engineering, Telecommunications, Science or IT based subject matter.
- Strong stakeholder management with experience in managing external stakeholders and must possess excellent technical writing and presentation skills and commercial / business acumen.
- Leadership by influence.
- Ability to be comfortable in the management of complex technical matters.
