This opportunity

The Fibre Engineering Services division is responsible for the expansion of TPG's robust national fibre network into commercial and residential buildings, mobile sites, DCs, POIs and other internal fibre infrastructure projects.

The Fibre Project Manager will be responsible for turnkey fibre service delivery for all the above within specific region, including all construction and deployment activities whilst driving key business outcomes and KPIs. This person will be managing multiple projects at any one time to support the tactical and strategic business initiatives of TPG.

Responsibilities

  • Budgets (for the purchase of external contractor labor, consultants, professional services, equipment and materials)
  • Simple to Highly Complex Projects and Rollouts (PLOC) – Including to direct and motivate project stakeholders, ensuring their understanding of roles and responsibilities, deliverables and that required business outcomes are met.
  • Assist, coach and mentor other members of the team as required.
  • Manage and build rapport with Internal Stakeholders (including Sales Operations, Mobile & Fixed Networks Division, Field Operations, Legal, Property,)
  • Manage and build rapport with External Stakeholders (including Contractors, Consultants, Vendors, Other Carriers, Utilities, LGA, Property Owners and Strata / Bodies Corporate) to mitigate delays during deployment

Knowledge and experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Telecommunications, Project Management.)
  • Familiar with Work, Health, Safety and Environmental Requirements.
  • Enhanced experience and knowledge in various fibre network construction tasks, including Civil construction, pit and conduit installation and standards, Telstra Duct Access Standards, Fibre Cable Hauling Standards , splicing and testing will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in Project management running complex delivery solutions.
  • Organisation skills and the ability to manage and meet competing deadlines.
  • Confident managing stakeholders at all levels and negotiate or navigate to seek resolution
  • Understanding of Telecommunications industry regulations. (Telco Act)
  • Ability to interpret relevant legislation and LGA regulations.
  • Accepting and Owning ad-hoc issues and escalations to resolution.
