Your opportunity:

As our valued Scam Monitoring Officer, you will be responsible for identifying fraud risks or vulnerability's in TPG Telecom’s network, product or service offerings. In collaboration with the Customer Security team you will make recommendations to protect TPG Telecom from potential loss of revenue, negative user experience and brand or reputational damage To control the ongoing risks that Scams present to TPG Telecom customers you will utilise analytical skills, monitoring controls and techniques to protect the integrity of TPG Telecom customers through the identification, prevention, and control of Scam related traffic.

You'll make impact by:

  • Identifying and blocking scam communications across the TPG Telecom network.
  • Enhancing and optimising scam detection and prevention processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identifying emerging fraud and scam patterns to support early detection, disruption, and protection of TPG Telecom and its customers.
  • Managing and action scam inbox reports and escalations, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Researching, analysing and tracking fraud and scam methods, including investigating potential incidents across the network.
  • Monitoring current and emerging scam trends affecting Australians, including seasonal and historically recurring scams (e.g., tax-time scams).
  • Producing and maintaining regular scam reporting using strong analytical skills.
  • Developing action plans for seasonal scam periods and upcoming risk events.
  • Actively contribute to team activities, including training, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in SQL, and MS Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Resilient and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of people at all levels of TPG.
  • Able to clearly communicate findings and insights to stakeholders and team members in a professional manner
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Self-starter (initiate without being asked or directed).
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to support shared objectives
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Comfortable working under pressure and adapting to changing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Organised with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Understands the business
