Your opportunity:

As our valued Senior complex data investigator, you will use your data analytical skills to ensure that any fraud risk or vulnerability in TPG Telecom’s network, product or service offerings is identified and recommendations made to protect TPG Telecom from potential loss of revenue, negative user experience and brand or reputational damage.

You'll make impact by:

Detection and Recovery

  • Designing and automating the fraud prevention and detection analytics that will assist other members of the Investigations team and coordinate with the business to action alerts in a timely manner.
  • Designing and automating ad-hoc, monthly and quarterly reviews of Contact Centre and dealer agents to ensure timely identification and efficient resolution of any identified non-compliance by the team.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and report on fraud complaint volumes and patterns and form studies identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Automating Fraud Governance Reviews as relating to On-boarding of Partner stores.

Investigation

  • Assisting the Customer Security and Investigations Manager in crisis management if and when required
  • Confidentially performing thorough, unbiased investigations into larger matters, systemic issues or significant allegations of fraud and misconduct committed by either TPG Telecom employees, third party vendors, partners or external parties.
  • Sharing ownership of the Investigations inbox and ensure received complaints and allegations are analysed and investigated in a timely manner.
  • Identifying, analysing and preparing investigation evidence for identified incidents.
  • Ensuring recommendations from investigations are assigned ownership and implemented by the business and escalate if correction measures are not met.
  • Preparing reports, evidence and affidavits in prescribed format for cases of strategic value or where we have a corporate responsibility to escalate issues to Senior Management and/or Law Enforcement Agencies

Reporting

  • Producing fortnightly reporting on the update of the Fraud Investigation department.
  • Producing quarterly reporting on the security highlights, new trends and cases to be distributed across the wider Fraud team (Fraud Detection, Cyber and Credit) and relevant committees (ISGC, Quarterly Scam & Fraud Review

What you’ll bring:

  • Data analytics to identify fraud patterns.
  • Design of scripts and alerts in various databases across all of the brands.
  • Running and interpretation of scripts on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Identifying system gaps, assessing their impact on the business and designing possible prevention mechanisms.
  • Highly analytical with investigative experience and ability to derive meaningful conclusion from various sources.
  • Ability to resolve complex and escalated issues quickly and sensitively.
  • Ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all time.
  • Desire to grow into broader role within Security.
  • Resilient and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and an independent thinker.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a commercial and pragmatic approach
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced and dynamic work environment

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Previous experience in Analytics.
