This opportunity

The prime accountability for this role is to manage the nominated Compute, Oracle database, Storage, Backup platforms / systems in relation to lifecycle, capacity, performance and risk management.

You will enable and support Architecture and Delivery teams in the planning, design and execution of relevant solutions & business project outcomes.

You will ensure a close working relationship with the other engineering domains, the broader Technology organisation and the relevant vendors.

Responsibilities

  • System Technical Owner Responsibilities and Accountabilities for nominated VMWare, Storage, Database and Backup Platforms such as:
  • Manage Lifecyle currency.
  • Capacity planning.
  • Performance measurement & optimisation facilitated by engineering & operations.
  • Risk management and treatment plans.
  • Provide regular management reporting on platform / systems per the agreed domain reporting profiles.
  • Contribute to the OPEX and Capex budget management of the nominated systems.
  • SME Support for P1/P2 Incidents on Storage, Database, VMWare and Backup Platform.
  • Assist in Provisioning and onboarding of major applications on nominated systems and platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with internal customers to understand their requirements, provide technical guidance, and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation related to on-premises cloud infrastructure and related processes.
  • Provide support to delivery teams to allow for project delivery according to plan.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peer groups, key internal stakeholders and TPG-T partners.

Knowledge and experience

  • Information Technology and/or demonstrated work experience with cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Proven ability to exercise independent judgement and work with limited supervision.
  • Very strong customer focus, both internally and externally, in execution of accountabilities.
  • Good time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong problem solving, multitasking and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to easily develop new relationships with both suppliers and colleagues.

Role Specific Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering or operational roles working on large complex infrastructure environments.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of cloud computing technologies and converged infrastructure.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of virtualisation technologies including VMWare.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Oracle database.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Storage technologies including Block, File and object storage.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Backup technologies
  • Sound Knowledge of Networking & Security, including Software Defined Networking.
