This opportunity

The role is responsible for working with internal consumers of the AWS platform to optimise costs of their AWS infrastructure. You will have exposure to best-practice Cloud technologies to ensure systems are highly available and cost-efficient.

This is a hands-on role requires both technical knowledge and very strong communication skills. You will be engaged with multiple technology teams who have varying skill levels of operating in AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with engineering teams to provide technical guidance and directions when it comes to optimising costs of AWS infrastructure
  • Champion solutions both internally in the Platform team team and to other internal teams
  • Designing, building and optimizing infrascruture through automation
  • Identify and promote areas of improvement in processes and tooling
  • Showing back and demonstrating optimisations and cost savings to various stakeholders
  • Observe the human resource policies of the Company

Knowledge and experience

  • Excellent knowledge of AWS technologies and services
  • Excellent knowledge of cost optimisation techniques in Pulblic Cloud, specifically AWS
  • Ability to analyse workloads and identify cost saving opportunities
  • Knowledge of working with one or more of the following language Java, Python, Ruby, Javascript, C#, C++), Python is preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-As-Code tools to automate deployments in AWS, preferably CloudFormation and CDK
  • Creating CI/CD pipelines in tools such as AWS Code Build, Code Deploy, Code Pipeline
  • Knowledge of React or other javascript based UI frameworks would be of benefit
  • Willing and keen to learn new technologies and skills
  • Worked in an agile environment
  • Building highly available, scalable and resilient platforms
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to influence technical teams.
  • Working in, and promotion of, collaborative working environments
  • Self-directed/autonomous
