This opportunity

The Head of Corporate Finance is a senior member of the Capital Markets team with primary responsibility for the development, implementation, continuous improvement and governance of TPG’s corporate model and associated financial analysis. The role will be responsible for driving a step change in corporate finance analysis and insight at TPG Telecom in support of all aspects of corporate planning, capital markets engagement and capital management.

The role requires extensive expertise in building and operating financial models, a deep knowledge of equity and debt capital markets, a sophisticated and intuitive understanding of corporate strategy and the risks and opportunities pertinent to the telecommunications sector.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing and continuously improving the long-term corporate financial model for TPG Telecom to drive insight and analysis in support of the company’s sustainable long-term performance.
  • Developing and maintaining an “outside in” equity market valuation model and relevant metrics to assist with Company valuation, engagement with equity market stakeholders to improve their analysis and, should it be necessary, takeover defence preparation
  • Partnering with the Treasury team on financial analysis and modelling required to support debt capital markets activities including (but not limited to): debt raisings, structure financing activities, financial risk management activities and development and management of external credit ratings or metrics,
  • Providing insight to originate and develop portfolio management initiatives, including running, in partnership with internal stakeholders, the financial analysis and modelling components of merger, acquisition, divestment or other transactional activity in support of the execution of TPG’s strategy.
  • Developing and maintaining financial analysis and modelling to support efficient capital management activities to enable optimal value outcomes for TPG shareholders.
  • Assisting with development as required for presentation materials and other documentation required for capital raisings, results materials, investor days or other direct capital markets engagement.
  • Developing and maintaining systemised and automated processes templates and tools for the inputting and output of data from various tools, data books, scorecards and dashboards.
  • Coaching colleagues and peers, especially members of the finance business partnering and business unit commercial planning teams, on how to input and extract optimal value and insight from the corporate finance.

Knowledge and experience

  • At least 10 years experience in corporate finance roles across industry, financial services or equivalent.
  • Relevant post graduate/professional qualifications.
  • Experience working in similar roles in the telecommunications and/or technology sector is desirable.
  • Chartered accountancy or equivalent qualification desirable.
  • Is a self-starter, takes initiative, and shapes their role to deliver the best organisational outcomes.
  • Is accountable for own self and team’s results and behaviour.
  • Focuses efforts on collaboration and achievement of organisational outcomes.
