And you play a role in that. A big one. The opportunities are plenty for those who are ready to accept the challenge.
Could that be you?
Your opportunity:
TPG Telecom operates large-scale, business-critical platforms across cloud and hybrid environments. This role is responsible for designing, deploying, operating and continuously improving production-grade cloud infrastructure and platform services within AWS.
Unlike traditional DevOps roles focused only on onboarding workloads, this position owns the full lifecycle of cloud-based solutions, ensuring reliability, scalability, performance and operational excellence after deployment.
The role requires a strong engineering mindset and hands-on technical leadership, working across software engineering, infrastructure, automation and platform operations. The engineer collaborates with architecture, engineering and business teams to ensure cloud solutions are not only built correctly but operated effectively over time.
You'll make impact on:

- Deliver Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using automation-first principles
- Develop reusable platform components and shared services
- Promote engineering best practices across cloud environments
Cloud Service Deployment & Lifecycle Ownership
- Own the deployment, configuration and lifecycle management of cloud-based services supporting production platforms
- Ensure solutions are deployed using reliable, repeatable and automated processes
- Maintain infrastructure post-deployment, including upgrades, patching, scaling and optimisation
- Manage the evolution of deployed environments to meet changing platform and business requirements
Platform Operations & Reliability
- Own the operational stability, availability and performance of cloud environments supporting business platforms
- Establish monitoring, alerting and observability across infrastructure and platform services
- Participate in the investigation and resolution of infrastructure or platform-level incidents
- Ensure root causes are addressed through systemic improvements rather than temporary fixes
- Maintain operational runbooks and platform documentation
Performance & Cost Optimisation
- Continuously analyse and optimise cloud resource utilisation
- Improve platform performance, resilience and scalability
- Drive cost optimisation initiatives while maintaining service reliability
Production Readiness & Governance
- Ensure solutions meet operational readiness standards before production deployment
- Contribute to capacity planning and scaling strategies
- Maintain alignment with security, compliance and cloud governance frameworks
- Support audit and risk management activities related to cloud platforms
Engineering Mindset & Collaboration
- Apply software engineering discipline to infrastructure and platform solutions
- Work across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentoring
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering, operations and business stakeholders
- Translate technical constraints into practical business solutions
What you’ll bring:
- Strong experience designing and operating AWS environments across a broad set of services
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, CDK or equivalent)
- Experience operating production-grade systems in enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering, resilience and high-availability design
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and automation practices
- Experience working with at least one programming or scripting language (Python preferred; Java, JavaScript, C#, Ruby or similar also valued)
- Solid understanding of AWS security best practices and cloud governance principles
- Familiarity with ITSM and service management processes, including tools such as Jira Service Management or equivalent
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate autonomously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Strong collaboration mindset and ability to work across multiple engineering teams
Ideally, you will also have:
- Experience with container platforms and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP)
- Background in software engineering and SDLC practices
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline or equivalent
- Experience in large-scale or business-critical platforms
- Experience with observability, monitoring and platform performance optimisation
- Passion for learning and adopting new technologies
What's in it for you?
- Flexible hybrid way of working (from home and office)
- ‘Stay Connected Mobile’ – Access to a free mobile plan
