Your opportunity:
The Bid Manager is responsible for proactively managing mid-large value complex opportunities end to end in the Enterprise and Government space from initial kick-off strategies to close by building and managing plans to ensure all activities are completed and customer deliverables are met within the deadline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and resolve complex technical, strategic and business issues impacting the proposal.
- Understand the requirements of the customer to align the proposal in the most appropriate manner.
- Ensure professionally produced proposals are submitted within customer defined timeframes with correct Company branding and follow standard formatting and quality standards.
- Lead kick-off session with internal stakeholders involved in the proposal to whiteboard the value proposition for the customer identifying their “hot buttons”
- Liaise with internal stakeholders at varying levels for their input into the content of the proposal.
- Proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
- Proactively plan the timeline and the number of days required to ensure the proposal is completed.
- Proactively assess the associated commercial and technical risks involved in creating the proposal.
- Deliver competitive proposals against agreed RFP deadlines – escalating issues when required.
- Proactively coach internal sales teams in persuasive writing skills, formatting, language style and grammar and proposal best practice.
- Consolidate documents and sections created by internal stakeholders and partners into the required tender format.
- Review the commercial aspects of the proposal to ensure all services are included in the final price.
- Schedule / facilitate all post-bid reviews with customers, consultants and internal stakeholders post contract award.
- Review and proactively store proposal material on a consistent basis to ensure it reflects the requirements of the Company.
- Create and manage document and presentation templates that can be used for proposals.
- Demonstrate initiative in understanding the Company’s suite of products, solutions and services.
- Keep abreast of changing trends and developments within the Telecommunications industry.
- Internal coaching within Enterprise & Government Teams, National Solutions Architect team, Liaising with Corporate Operations team, Human Resources, General Counsel, Product and Pricing teams. External discussions with Prospective and existing customers along with varied consultants
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in a similar Bid Management role (Telecommunications experience is the preference)
- Strong influencing/networking skills
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end opportunity management – qualification to handover
- Experience of Enterprise & Government large scale tenders would be advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in managing conflicting priorities and projects and initiate escalation where appropriate.
Ideally, you will also have:
- Proven ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines
- Exemplary interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills managing multiple opportunities at a time
- Strong research skills and the ability to withstand high stress levels
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, Sales Leads, General Managers, Head of Management, Group Executives and subject matter experts.
